Every March, The American Cancer Society has what they call Daffodil Days…a week long fundraiser where they deliver bouquets of daffodils. Their definition is that since the daffodil is one of the first flowers of spring, it represents hope.

I remember receiving a few bouquets of daffodils when I had my double mastectomy in March of 1999. Since that time, the daffodils for me have always represented renewal, recovery, and restoration. Someone very close to me is currently recovering from her own double mastectomy and I keep thinking about how nice it is for her to recover during the beginning of Spring. Because, isn’t it true that we all begin to bloom a bit more as the weather turns warmer?

What in your life needs some renewal, recovery, or restoration? Are you ready to bloom?
